Since February 27th, Facebook has introduced a new feature for custom audiences.
Users already had the opportunity to know why they were likely to see one ad and not another through the “why am I seeing this?” button in the drop-down menu of feed posts.
Now, they’ll know the advertising agency and its partners that are behind this targeting and responsible for the recovery and use of their data. Beyond this, users will have the opportunity to know the exact source of their data : brand’s or advertiser’s listing or if they were collected through their partners.
This new feature is intended to provide more transparency to the platform’s users regarding how their data are used.
