As the title already gave it away, Google changed their ranking policy concerning mobile !
Indeed, starting April 21st quality score of SEA and SEO will be impacted by the mobile-friendliness of your website.
At least, this is what Google communicated :
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results”
We think it’s more than time to make mobile a priority. Why ? Due to the rapid adoption rate and the expected growth.
Luckily for you, it’s not too late to switch and/or create your mobile website.

It’s important to know if your website is ready for this change. You can find this out through different ways, which we would label as complementary to each other :
- The first test is the easiest one : put yourself in your customers’ shoes. How ? Take your smartphone, open your browser and try to find one of your products on Google. Once you found it, follow the entire procedure from browsing, to adding them to cart and finally checking out.
- Secondly, you should test key pages. Thed good news ? There’s a free online tool, that allows you to run the Mobile-Friendly Test.
- Last but not least : if you are a webmaster, or if your webmaster should happen to read this, you can use your Webmaster Tools account and check the Mobile Usability Report. This report will give you a full list of mobile usability issues across your website.
